Anal scale

The anal fin, also known as Analschuppe or shield, is the enlarged Horn scale on the bottom of Körperes with most snakes in the area of the cloaca. It can be divided in one piece or in two scales. It lies between the Ventralia or ventral scales and the Subcaudalia below the tail.

As with all other scales is their shape, size and training is an important determining feature within the snake systematics.
