Anandamayi Ma

Anandamayi Ma ( Bengali: আনন্দময়ী মা, Anandamayi Ma,, born April 30, 1896 † 27 August 1982) was a renowned spiritual master from India. Ananda means happiness. Life

Anandamayi Ma was as Nirmala Sundari was born on 30 April 1896 in Kheora, Bengal. Her parents were Bipinbihari Bhattacharya and Mokshada Sundari Devi. Her father was a famous singer and followers of Lord Vishnu. At twelve, she was married and moved in 1914 at the age of 18 years with her husband Bholanath together. It was 1922, and died in 1938 as a student sannyasin.

Anandamayi Ma traveled to more than 50 years the Indian subcontinent. Her followers built 28 ashrams in India, Europe and the USA ( Hawaii). They founded the Shree Shree Anandamayee Sangha in Varanasi. The Blissful Mother taught the unity of all religions and was worshiped by Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Sikhs, Jains, Hindus and Buddhists. Teaching

In 1917 she began her six year old Sadhana. First they said the name of Lord Vishnu " Hari " as a mantra, because their parents were Vaishnavites. But her husband was a follower of Lord Shiva Yoga, and she went over to the mantra " Shiva ". She danced to the mantras and then lingered in a quiet meditation. Anandamayi Ma was a master of hatha yoga. They gave the world the way of creative yoga. The creative yoga consists of physical exercises ( Hatha Yoga), mental exercises ( bhakti - yoga), meditation (Raja Yoga) and the path of universal love ( karma yoga ). The creative yoga has parallels to the Yoga of Synthesis of Swami Sivananda, who knew and greatly admired.
