Anarchists Against the Wall

The Anarchists Against the Wall ( AATW ) (Hebrew אנרכיסטים נגד הגדר; German translation of the Hebrew text: anarchists against the fence; partly Anarchists Against Fences ) are a group in Israel that is committed against the Israeli separation barrier in the West Bank. It was founded in 2003.

Positions

The group refers to the barrier as the " apartheid wall " and claims that the same only has the occupation of Palestinian territories and ultimately separation of a target. The Anarchists Against the Wall reject the occupation of the Palestinian territories categorically, actively cooperate with parts of the Palestinian independence movement and close joint demonstrations with members of the militant Palestinian organizations PFLP and Fatah is not enough. They emphasize that their direct actions are performed in the Palestinian territories under the leadership of local communities. Furthermore, they explain that it was not a question with them a homogeneous group, but a collection of individuals who represent correspondingly different views. History

The Anarchists Against the Wall was founded during a protest camps in Mas'ha of Israeli activists. The camp consisted of Palestinian, Israeli and international activists who wanted to use it against the barrier by the country was occupied by the fortifications should take in the future.

Award
