Anastacia is the third album by the singer Anastacia, released on 29 March 2004.

History

The album was written and recorded when Anastacia was diagnosed with breast cancer, which is reflected in many personal songs on the disk. In just six months, she overcame the disease. As of September 2003, she co-starred with Glen Ballard ( Alanis Morissette ), Dallas Austin ( TLC, Pink, Boyz II Men, Madonna ) and David A. Stewart one of the first pieces for the self-titled disc. The album peaked in the UK, Switzerland, Austria and Germany in first place In Germany the album was certified quadruple platinum. In the U.S., the album was never released.

Reception

The website Allmusic.com awarded 4.5 out of 5 stars and chose the album as "Album Pick" from. Matthew Chisling wrote that the plate was a " transitional album" of the disco music to the " passionate power pop ". Kai Kopp of Laut.de awarded 4 out of 5 stars. He praised the " powerful outward musical orientation."
