Anastasius I of Antioch

Anastasius I of Antioch, also Anastasius († 599) was Patriarch of Antioch.

He held office from 559 as Patriarch of Antioch ( Syria) and occurred against Justinian I, when he supported the Aphthartodoketismus. Under Justin II had Anastasios 570 go into exile and returned back under 593 Maurikios again until his death in office.

He is venerated as a saint. His feast day is 21 April.
