Anat Cohen

Anat Cohen (Hebrew ענת כהן; born 1975 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli jazz musician (clarinet, soprano and tenor saxophone).

Life and work

Cohen comes from a musical family; saxophonist Yuval and trumpeter Avishai Cohen are their brothers. She played as a twelve- year-old initially on the clarinet of her father; She was initially trained at the Conservatory in her native city and began to play in a Dixieland band. During her time on the junior high school, she played beyond in a classical chamber ensemble; on the Thelma Yellin High School for the Arts, they then focused on jazz. During her military service, she played as Tenorsaxophonistin in a big band of the army. 1996 she began training at the Berklee College of Music; next they played Latin jazz.
