Anathon Aall

Anathon Aall ( born August 15, 1867 in Nesseby; † January 9, 1943 in Oslo) was a Norwegian philosopher.

Aall attended the Higher Latin School in Stavanger in southwestern Norway, he graduated from high school exam in 1886. Subsequently, he studied at the University of Kristiania ( Oslo), theology and philosophy. The theological examination, he took off in 1891. His thesis was awarded by the Crown Prince with the gold medal. In 1893 he studied at the University of Berlin with Adolf von Harnack, 1894 in Leipzig and 1894/95 in Paris. In 1908 he was appointed full professor in Christiania (Oslo ).
