Anatolii Mohyliov

Anatoly Wolodymyrowytsch Mohiljow ( born April 6, 1955 in Petropavlovsk -Kamchatsky ) is a Ukrainian politician. It was March 2010 to November 2011 Minister of the Interior in the cabinet of Mykola Azarov and from November 2011 to February 2014 Prime Minister of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Life

Mohiljow first completed a degree in physics and worked as a physics teacher. In 1982, he joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs and worked for the Criminal Investigation Department. He graduated in 1993, the University of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry and was first in Artemivsk, and later in Makijiwka Head of the Department of the Interior Ministry and thus police chief of the city.

In 2007, he was police chief of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea with the rank of major general. During his time in the Crimea Mohiljow repeatedly came into conflict with the Crimean Tatars and with his superior, the former Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko. Lutsenko suspended Mohiljow finally resigned from his post, as this had become an official member of the campaign staff of Viktor Yanukovych and this position according to the laws of Ukraine was not compatible with his office.

After the election victory of Yanukovych in the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2010 was Mohiljow Interior Minister of Ukraine. His appointment was criticized by the Crimean Tatars. One of introduced against him in the Verkhovna Rada deselection request did not reach the required majority of votes in June 2010.

Repeats Mohiljow was accused by his political opponents that he does not speak the Ukrainian language. In August 2010, President Yanukovych therefore admonished him publicly and told him to learn the Ukrainian language. Mohiljow told this and reported soon now largely to master the language. In November 2011 Mohiljow was dismissed from Yanukovych as Interior Minister and simultaneously appointed as Prime Minister of Crimea.

After the beginning of the Krimkrise 2014 pro-Russian militias government and parliament buildings were occupied, the Parliament of the peninsula, the regional government said on February 27, deposed. To succeed Mohiljow the deputies elected the chairman of the party Russian unit, Sergei Aksenov. While according to the information provided by the current Ukrainian President Yanukovych has accepted his election, interim president Turchynov declared this to be illegal.
