Anatoliy Banishevskiy

Anatoly Andreyevich Banischewski (Russian Анатолий Андреевич Банишевский, Azerbaijani Anatoli Banişevski; born February 23, 1946 in Baku, then Soviet Union, † 1997 in Baku ) was a Soviet football player, who later became the Azerbaijani nationality possessed.

Life

During his entire club career Banischewski played exclusively for Neftschi Baku, he also coached from 1981 to 1983. With Neftchi he finished 3rd in the 1966 Soviet League, which was for the club the biggest success before the independence of Azerbaijan.

In the Soviet national team he played from 1965 to 1972. Moreover, he participated in the 1966 World Cup in England in part, where the Soviet Union placing 4th. He played in this tournament five games and scored a goal against North Korea. Total played Anatoly Banischewski 50 times ( 19 goals ) and after reading FIFA 46 times ( 18 goals ) for the Sbornaja.

He died in 1997 at the age of 50 years.

2003 Banischewski has been honored with the 50th anniversary of UEFA as the best of Azerbaijani football player of the past 50 years.
