Anatoly Lein

Anatoli Yakovlevich Lein (Russian Анатолий Яковлевич Лейн; born March 28, 1931 in Leningrad) is an American, former Soviet chess master.

Anatoly Lein received from FIDE in 1964 awarded the title of International Master in 1968 the Grand Master title. He participated in seven championships of the USSR. In 1976 he emigrated to the United States, the same year he won the U.S. Open. At the Chess Olympiad in 1978, he played on board 3 for the USA and won the bronze medal with his team. In 2004, he was inducted into the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame.

Lein also takes in old age or in part in tournaments. His Elo rating is 2274 (as of March 2011). According to historical Elo rating, he was in February 1967 with an Elo rating of 2662 on the 26th place in the world rankings.
