Anchiano

Anchiano is a district of the municipality of Vinci in the Italian region of Tuscany. Supposedly in this village on April 15, 1452 in a farmhouse Leonardo da Vinci was born.

Anchiano is located in a rural area and has little houses. The alleged birthplace Casa natale di Leonardo da Vinci lies between Anchiano and Faltognano and can be visited. The landscape, which saw Leonardo in his youth, has changed little over the centuries, as it has since been almost no further colonization. It is characterized by vineyards and olive trees.
