Ancient Diocese of Carpentras

The diocese of Carpentras (Latin: Dioecesis Carpentoractensis ) is a former Roman Catholic diocese in France. It belonged since 1475 to the Ecclesiastical Province of Avignon. With the Concordat of 1801, the diocese of Carpentras was disbanded and incorporated into the Archdiocese of Avignon.
