Ancient Diocese of Dax

The diocese of Dax (Latin: Dioecesis Aquae Augustae ) was located in France Roman Catholic diocese based in Dax.

History

The diocese of Dax was built in the 5th century. First bishop was Vincent.

On 29 November 1801, the diocese of Dax was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the diocese of Bayonne.

The diocese of Dax was the archbishopric assumed also a suffragan.
