Ancient Diocese of Vaison

The diocese of Vaison (Latin: Dioecesis Vasionensis ) is a former Roman Catholic diocese in France, located in the town of Vaison. It has existed since the 4th century and belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Avignon since 1475. With the Concordat of 1801, the diocese of Vaison was disbanded and incorporated into the Archdiocese of Avignon and the Diocese of Valence.
