Ancône

Ancône is a southern French village with 1192 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) of the Drome in the Rhone -Alpes.

Geography

The only 1.59 km ² large municipality of Ancône includes the settlements together with the small town nor the airfield from Montelimar ( Aerodrome de Montelimar ) which is known mainly because of the museum Musée Européen de l'Aviation de Chasse. Ancône right on the bank of the Rhone.

Population

The community has because of the small area with almost 600 inhabitants per km ² higher than average population density. In the past 45 years, the population has increased steadily. In 1962, Ancône still 356 residents.
