Andahuaylas is a small town of about 30,000 inhabitants in the South American Peru. The city is located in the Andes at an altitude of about 2900 meters and is an important center of the Apurimac region.

The region around the city of Andahuaylas is one of the poorest regions of Peru. The population is mainly of Indian descent.

Attractions and Other

The town has a beautiful church from the 16th century, built on an ancient Incan ruins. It also has a small airport, the Andahuaylas Airport, which is regularly served by Lima.
