Anders Andersson (ice hockey)

Åke Anders " Acka " Andersson ( born January 2, 1937 in Skellefteå, † December 15, 1989 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player.

Career

Anders Andersson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at Skellefteå AIK, for the first team, he was from 1955 to 1966 in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, active. In the 1967/68 season, the attacker ran on for the league rivals Färjestad BK, before he returned to the 1968/69 season to his hometown club Skellefteå AIK, where he then finished his career at the age of 32 years. In the years 1961 and 1962 he won the Guldpucken as Sweden's Ice Hockey Player of the Year.

Internationally

For Sweden, Andersson took part in Squaw Valley and 1964 in Innsbruck at the Olympic Winter Games 1960. At the Winter Games in 1964 he won the silver medal with his team. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1957, 1962 and 1965. At the World Championships in 1957 and 1962, he won with his team the gold medal each. As the best European team Sweden was also each European champions. In the 1965 World Cup, he won the bronze medal with his country.
