Anders Eldebrink

Unlike Eldebrink ( born December 11, 1960 in Morjärv ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player. Eldebrink completed 165 games for the Swedish national team.

Career

His career began Eldebrink, the younger brother of athlete Kenth Eldebrink, at the age of 16 years in the Swedish Elitserien. There he played for Södertälje SK. Eldebrink won the championship with Södertälje in 1985. During the same year he was voted player of the year and 1988, like 1989 MVP. After a two -year stint in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks and the Nordiques de Québec played Eldebrink in the years 1990-1995 for the EHC Kloten, with whom he was in 1993, 1994 and 1995 Swiss Champion in the National League A.

Internationally

Internationally, he played in 1984 and in 1987 at the Canada Cup for the Swedish national team, reaching with this 1984 final of the competition. He was also in 1987 at the Ice Hockey World Championships World Cup Team and 1988 when winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games here. Eldebrink in 1989 elected to the World Championship All-Star Team.

As a coach

After his career as a player he was in 1998 Manager of Södertälje SK. He then oversaw the 2003 Timrå IK, but returned back in 2004 as assistant coach for Södertälje SK. After Vladimir Jursinow was released in October 2004 at the Kloten Flyers, took over Anders Eldebrink before the season 2005 /06 as coach for the Flyers. As an assistant coach served his former teammate Felix Hollenstein. During his seven-year tenure, he brought the Kloten Flyers always in the playoffs. 2009 and 2011 the team was runner-up respectively. In parallel, he was assistant coach of the Swedish national team in 2005. From December 2012 to March 2013 he was coach of AIK Ishockey and changed for playout as knights in shining armor back to Switzerland, to the risk of the relegation Rapperswil -Jona Lakers. He managed to save the team from relegation. Unlike Eldebrink a two -year contract has subsequently signed until end of season 2014/15.
