Anders Jacobsen (ski jumper)

Anders Jacobsen (born 17 February 1985 in Hønefoss ) is a Norwegian ski jumper. He won at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec and 2013 in Val di Fiemme bronze medals on the large hill. In the Ski Flying World Championships 2010 in Planica he was also third parties.

Career

He originally worked as a plumber in Norway and operational ski jumping since he was eight years more as a hobby. In the summer of 2006 he was invited as a member of the Norwegian B- squad by national coach Mika Kojonkoski to a competition for the team, where he graduated in such good jumps that he was employed in the following season along with Tom Hilde in the Norwegian national team.

His first World Cup competition on snow, he completed on 24 November 2006 in Kuusamo, where he finished in third place. In the following competition in Lillehammer Jacobsen confirmed its emerging shape and quickly established himself in the world rankings.

His first World Cup victory celebrated said of his team-mates as " cannonball Hønefoss " Jacobsen on 17 December 2006, for jumping in the Swiss Engelberg. After a fourth place in Oberstdorf, the fifth in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and the victory in the second place at the last competition in Bischofshofen the discovery of the season reached its greatest success by winning the 55th Four Hills Tournament. Second place overall was the Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer before the Swiss Simon Ammann.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo 2007 he won with Tom Hilde, Anders Bardal and Roar Ljøkelsøy the silver medal in the team competition on the large hill. He completed his first World Cup season off with second place. In 2007 /08 showed Jacobsen good performance. In addition to a victory in Liberec, he could four more times erspringen a podium and finished sixth in the overall standings. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, he won bronze on the large hill and silver with the team.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he reached the 9th place in jumping on the normal hill. With the team he won the bronze medal in the team competition.

On August 9, 2008, he married his partner Birgitte Jacobsen. On January 23, 2011, she got her first son, Isaac.

On 8 February 2011 Anders Jacobsen jumped at the Norwegian National Championship 142.5 m at Holmenkollen in Oslo. He skipped the hitherto longest jump on the hill ( 141m from Andreas Kofler ) by 1.5 m. But since it was a national and not official international competition, is the official hill record of Kofler today.

On 30 May 2011 Anders Jacobsen announced at a press conference that he takes a break from jumping and possibly ended his career entirely. He has justified his decision with motivation problems. On January 3, 2012, he announced the other hand, to try to defend to the Norwegian Championships on the large hill on 7 February 2012 in Trondheim his title from last year. This was necessary in order to qualify for the Norwegian team at the Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund. Although he missed a team nomination for the Ski Flying World Championships, went there, however, as a fore of the hill, as well as before in Oberstdorf. In the Norwegian championships on the normal hill on March 24, 2012 in Voss, he won the title. In May Jacobsen received by the Norwegian Association of a starting place in the Continental Cup team with the prospect of being able to participate in good performances also in World Cup competitions. Even with two victories in the national series " Sommerhoppuke " he drew attention to himself where he could finally celebrate the overall win. Since the beginning of the 2012/13 season Jacobsen jumps back in the World Cup. Immediately on his first two jumping at the World Cup opener in Lillehammer he missed the podium in fourth each just barely. At the opening event of the Four Hills Tournament 2012/13 in Oberstdorf and the following competition in Garmisch -Partenkirchen him reach the first World Cup victory since his career interruption. Finally, he finished in the Four Hills Tournament second place behind Gregor Schlierenzauer, who won the other two jumping in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.

When ski flying in Planica Jacobsen suffered a torn ACL in March 2013. Mid- November 2013 he graduated after a long injury break, the first training jumps.
