Anders Koppel

Anders Koppel ( born July 17, 1947 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish composer and musician.

From a young age he studied piano, clarinet and organ lessons. He was co-founder of the rock group The Savage Rose and founded in 1976, the trio Bazaar, which brought out a total of nine albums. During the time in the two groups Koppel began intensive work with compositions.

In its ongoing work to date period Anders Koppel wrote many very different works for various classical ensembles. His best-known compositions are the " Toccata for Vibraphone and Marimba " ( 1992) and the "Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra " (1995), which have already been listed on the entire world. Furthermore, coupling wrote the music for eight, partly highly acclaimed, ballets and more than 125 films, 50 plays and three musicals. His recent work includes the works "Concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra" (2000), " Concerto no 2 for Marimba and Strings " (2000) and "Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra " (2001).

Striking seems Koppel special attention to the "unknown" and less considered instruments for his solo concerts almost without exception.

2003 coupling was invited by the University Mozarteum to a portrait concert. In the Mozart Year 2006, he was one of eight composers in the work " VIVA! Mozart Suite "is selected, which was premiered in November the same year, the Music Festival of the International Society for Contemporary Music.
