Anders Myrvold

Anders Myrvold ( born August 12, 1975 in Lørenskog ) is a Norwegian ice hockey player (defender), who was last to 2011 when Frisk Asker in the GET ligaen under contract.

Playing career

Ander Myrvold began his career in the youth department of Furuset IF. From there he moved to Storhamar IL, for their first team, he made his debut in the Norwegian Elite Series in the 1991/92 season. He then joined the junior division of the Swedish clubs Färjestad BK, for its professional team, he was employed in the 1992/93 season in the Swedish Elitserien. NHL Entry Draft 1993 Links shooter was finally selected as the 127 in the fifth round by the Quebec Nordiques. First, however, he spent the 1993/94 season in the second Swedish league, Division 1, when Gurums IK. In the 1994/95 season he played for the Titan de Laval in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL, where he could be distinguished with 78 scorer points, including 18 goals, in 84 games. He was then elected to the All- Rookie Team of the QMJHL and Canadian Hockey League.

His first appearances in the National Hockey League finally graduated Myrvold in the season 1995/96 for the Colorado Avalanche, for their farm team Cornwall Aces, he had previously been playing in the American Hockey League. For the 1996/97 season the defensive man moved to the Boston Bruins, but even here he could not prevail and played mainly for their AHL farm team Providence Bruins, so he finally returned in 1998 to Sweden. After three years at Djurgårdens IF and AIK Myrvold moved again to North America, where he stood for the New York Islanders and their farm team Springfield Falcons on the ice.

Further stations of the Norwegian were in the following years the HC Fribourg- Gottéron from the Swiss National League A, the Adler Mannheim of the DEL and the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL, where he failed to gain a foothold in his renewed attempt in the NHL again and played almost exclusively for Detroit's AHL farm team the Grand Rapids Griffins. From 2004 to 2008 he was at Vålerenga IF from Oslo and was under contract with his team in 2005, 2006 and 2007, three times in a row Norwegian champion. Only in the 2005/06 season he played briefly for the ZSC Lions of the Swiss NLA and their farm team GCK Lions from the NLB. For the season 2008/ 09 the Norwegians moved within the highest Norwegian league to the Stavanger Oilers, for whom he scored seven goals in 50 games and had 24 templates. The season 2009/10 he spent at Stjernen. In the season 2010/11 he stood for Frisk Asker in the GET ligaen on the ice. Since then he has vertragslos.

Internationally

For Norway Myrvold took at junior level at the U18 Junior European Championships 1991, 1992 and 1993 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1993, 1994 and 1995 in part. In all three tournaments at the U20 World Championships, he was also voted the best defender of the B World Cup and 1993 in the All-Star team.

In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2002, 2003 and 2005, and the A World Championships in 1994, 2006, 2008 and 2009. During the 2009 World Cup, he was named one of the best three players in his country.
