Anders Sandøe Ørsted

Anders Sandoe Oersted [ œrsdɛð ] ( born December 21, 1778 in Rudkøbing; † May 1, 1860 ) was a Danish politician and lawyer. He was from 1853 to 1854 held the office of Danish Prime Minis Tens.

Life

Anders Sandoe Oersted was the brother of the physicist Hans Christian Ørsted and the uncle of the botanist Anders Sandoe Oersted.

Anders Sandoe Oersted had in 1834 held a number of activities. He was the first deputy in the Danish law firm, besides also in 1825 Attorney General, 1841 Secret functionary and 1842 Secret Minister of State with maintaining its previous offices. As a result of riots in March of 1848 he was forced to resign as his colleagues from his offices.

He was in 1853 elected to the basic Legislative Assembly, and Empire in the Landsmeet. In the same year he was appointed on April 21, 1853 to the Prime Minister. At the same time he managed next to the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Interior and later the Ministry of Justice. Under his tenure constitutional laws for Lauenburg, Schleswig and Holstein were developed that had partly different character. The purpose of these laws was to introduce the Constitution Unit in the Danish state and to establish it as a national state. On July 26, 1854, this proposed legislation was completed. The opposition of the Reichstag, however, was too strong, forcing Anders Sandoe Oersted on 12 December 1854 resignation. They also sought an indictment before the Imperial Court Minister, but on February 28, 1856 ended with an acquittal.
