Anderson is a city in Madison County, Indiana, United States. It is the administrative center of the county. According to the 2000 census, the town has 59,734 inhabitants. It was named after its founder, the Lenni Lenape Chief William Anderson. The local high schools are the Anderson HS and, Highland HS.
