Andi Deris

Andreas " Andi " Deris ( born August 18, 1964 in Karlsruhe) is the vocalist and main composer of the German power metal band Helloween.

Biography

First band (1979-1987)

Andreas Deris began his career as a singer in his first band called Paranoid, which he founded along with his school friend Ralf Maurer. When Andreas Deris was 17 years old, Paranoid name into Nameless.

Deris joined the mid- 80s the band Dragon, consisting of the brothers Bruno and Oscar Di Blasio and Bernd and Stefan Lüddemann ( former Hot - Legs - members). They played many concerts in the region of Karlsruhe, went to Edo Zankis studio in Charles Village and finally to Arco Studio, Munich to record their first demo with producer Tony Monn. The following songs were included: "I Was Made to be With You ," " Call Me Up ", "I Hear the Angels Singing", " Ballad of Glory " and "Rock Your Body Down". On drums helped during the recordings Bodo Schopf from ( ex -Michael Schenker Group ). Then it was quiet around the band. 1986 ended Deris his military service, the band was reinforced with Daniel DeNiro on bass and school friend Ralf Mason on drums and called Kymera now. It was followed by several Showcase performances in Hamburg, Kymera received a publishing contract at the " Francis, Day & Hunter Publishing Hamburg" and took the catapult recording studio in Karlsruhe, the next demo with the songs "Hello USA", "Hot Looking Romeo ", "Send me a Letter " and newly arranged versions of " I Was Made to be With You, "" Call me Up "and" Woman " on. After a few more concerts drummer Ralf Maurer left the band to concentrate on his studies. The young talented Kosta Zafiriou replaced him. Finally, a little later he called with Deris Pink Cream 69 to life.

Pink Cream 69 (1987-1993)

In 1987, Andi Deris founded together with Kosta Zafiriou and guitarist Alfred Koffler, the band Pink Cream 69, in which the bassist Dennis Ward was still recorded. Here celebrated Deris, especially after the talent competition of the Ludwigsburg Rockfabrik had been won, his first successes. However Deris left the " Pinkies " by -band disputes in 1993 and joined the hamburgers Helloween, who had just split from her singer Michael Kiske.

Helloween (1993 -present)

At the time, as Deris Helloween joined, the band was in a difficult situation. Kiske was regarded as extremely talented and Deris was regarded by some fans as a foreign body within the band, although the last two Helloween albums (Pink Bubbles Go Ape and Chameleon ) were mostly considered to be of average quality.
