The Andean language (self- designation: q'wannab micci ) belongs to the - named after her - subset of the Andean languages within the Northeast Caucasian language family. It is spoken by about 10,000 people in the south of the autonomous republic of Dagestan ( Russian Federation); the ethnic population of Andier is however approximately 20,000.
The name Andi goes back to the name of the village Andi.

The Andean Although at present no written language, but it was written in the Arabic alphabet until 1928, 1928-1938 with the Latin and from 1938 with the Russian alphabet. As written languages are used today Avar and Russian.
