Andisleben

Andisleben is a municipality in the district Sömmerda in Thuringia. The municipality belongs to the administrative community Gera - Aue.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the Gera in the western part of the county.

History

The first mention was 815 in a document of the Abbey of Hersfeld. 1309 destroyed the Erfurt Castle Andisleben.

During the Second World War had men and women from Poland and Ukraine ( 28 persons) forced labor in agriculture.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 12 July 1994 by the Thuringian State Office of Administration.

Blazon: " Divided by battlements section of red and silver; above three silver juxtaposed plowshares; below three superimposed blue wave beams. "

The plowshares are the settlement formative main livelihood of the population on agriculture as the long time. The battlements section symbolizes the former water castle, which is already mentioned in 1308 in Erfurt Chronicle. The three-part wave beams finally symbolizes the place flowing through three arms of Gera.

The coat of arms was designed by the Herald Frank Jung.

Traffic

Andi life is on the edge of the national road 4 Nordhausen to Erfurt, which is is free of intersections in this section. Bus number 111 of Erfurt Transport Services connects the village to the state capital.

The railway line Nordhausen to Erfurt is approximately two kilometers east of Andisleben. The nearest train stations on this route are ring life - Gebesee and Walschleben, each about three kilometers away.
