Andragoras (Seleucid satrap)

Andragoras was around 250 BC Seleucid satrap in Parthia, at the time of the Scythian Arsaces I. invaded Parthia and rebelled against the Seleucids. Justin reported that Andragoras was killed by Arsaces I.. Andragoras is perhaps also of four gold staters and a series of tetradrachms known which bear the name Andragoras and were found partly in the Oxus treasure; although the assignment of the coins to said Justin person is not sure. Finally, there are stylistically very closely related coins, which are also attributed to him. They carry Aramaic legends, which in turn are difficult to read.
