André Chassaigne

André Chassaigne ( born July 2, 1950 in Clermont- Ferrand, Puy -de- Dôme) is a French politician of the French Communist Party.

Life

Chassaigne is a member of the French National Assembly for the Puy-de -Dôme. He won the region with 65.90 % of votes.

In the regional elections of 2010, the PCF gained 14.2% in the Auvergne.

Chassaigne has announced plans to stand as presidential candidate of the Front de Gauche in the French presidential elections in 2012. This is partly viewed as a tactical step.
