Andre Drummond

Andre Jamal Drummond ( born August 10, 1993, Mount Vernon, New York ) is an American professional basketball player who stands at the Detroit Pistons in the NBA under contract.

High School and College

Drummond was the first time at the FIBA U-17 World Cup 2010 in Hamburg. With the American selection, he won the gold medal. He played two years for the St. Thomas More High School in Oakdale, Connecticut and dominated as one of the best center players in the country. Drummond decided to use the local University of Connecticut. In his first and only year for the Huskies Drummond scored 10.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game.

Detroit Pistons (since 2012)

Although Drummond was seen as one of the best players of the vintage, he was selected in the NBA Draft 2012 only in 9th place of the Detroit Pistons. He nevertheless surprised many experts and completed his first year with 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie Second Team for this service. Drummond was invited to the NBA All-Star Weekend in 2014, the Rising Star Challenge and completed the game for the team of Grant Hill. He was then elected MVP.
