André Lagache

André Lagache ( born January 21, 1885October 2, 1938 ) was a French race car driver and 1923, the first winner of the 24- hour race at Le Mans.

Lagache worked as an engineer at Chenard Walcker & founded ( and was partially Nahmensgeber ) the company FAR and was selected by the management of the French automobile manufacturer to pilot together with René Léonard Chenard & Walcker their sport at the first 24 - hour race at Le Mans in 1923. After 128 laps and 2209 kilometers covered both their countrymen and teammates Raoul Bachmann and Christian d' Auvergne distanced four rounds.

Lagache was also 1924 and 1925 Chenard & Walcker for Le Mans at the start. Both times, again Rene Leonard was his teammate, he retired after technical defects from early 1924 driven by 26 laps and 1925 after 90 rounds.

1925 the Frenchman won another long distance race. Again with Leonard as the second driver, he was successful in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
