Andre Tippett

Andre Bernard Tippett (* December 27, 1959 in Birmingham, Alabama ) is a former American football player. He played from 1982 to 1993 on the position of linebackers for the New England Patriots in the National Football League ( NFL). He still works at the Patriots. In 2008 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Career

Tippett attended the University of Iowa where he very successfully played college football as a linebacker. In the 1982 NFL Draft, he was selected in the second round to 41st overall by the New England Patriots. There he continued to play very successful, he was elected to five Pro Bowls ( 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988) and was elected five times to the All- Pro ( 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988), was the NFL 1980s All- Decade team selected and was once a player of the year. Andre Tippett is currently in three halls of fame, in the patriot own, in which he was inducted in 1999 into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and in the hall of fame of its university, which has taken him in 2007.
