Andrea Checchi

Andrea Checchi ( born October 21, 1916 in Florence, † March 31, 1974 in Rome ) was an Italian actor.

Life

Checchi, came at the age of 18 years from his home town to Rome, made ​​his first film even during his training as an actor at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. Director was his teacher there, Alessandro Blasetti. In the cinema of the Mussolini era he was a popular performer in melodramas or stripes with heroic background. In the 60s came increased performances, now as a character actor on television and also roles in spaghetti westerns, war and horror movies do so. His filmography includes about 175 titles.

Twice, in 1946 and 1958, Checchi was awarded a Nastro d' Argento.

Besides working as an actor Checchi was active as a painter and has exhibited several times.
