Andrea Masiello

Andrea Masiello ( born February 5, 1986 in Viareggio ) is an Italian football player.

Career

Association

Andrea Masiello started his career at AS Lucchese Libertas until he moved to Juventus in 2003. He made his debut on 20 April 2005 in the 0-1 home defeat against Inter Milan. He was then awarded along with Viktor Igorewitsch Budjanski to Avellino Calcio, where he completed a total of 41 games, but could not prevent relegation in 2005.

Since Juventus was involved in the Italian football scandal in 2006, Juventus had relegated to Serie B. Since the club's expensive players could no longer afford the squad had to be completely restructured. Why were sold, among other things Andrea Masiello, Daniele Gastaldello, Abdoulay Konko, Giovanni Bartolucci and Douglas Ricardo Packer to the AC Siena.

After he and Abdoulay Konko a single game for the AC Siena disputed until the winter break 2006/ 07, Juve sold 50 percent of the transfer rights to the CFC Genoa. Then both players and Domenico Criscito were sold to Genoa. He played 15 times along with his teammates. Genoa Masiello and Konko decided to bind to the club longer, but he made just four games until he was awarded in 2008 to AS Bari.

After the loan period was over, offered the charge of AS Bari Masiello on a contract, which he accepted also. Since then, he has become an important part of the team.

After three years, 110 Serie A games and three goals for Bari, he moved to the 2011/12 season at Atalanta.

In the course of Italian football betting scandal Masiello was arrested on April 2, 2012 by the Public Prosecutor of Bari on suspicion of betting manipulation and forming a criminal association. Masiello admitted then to have intentionally made ​​on 15 May 2011 as the defender of AS Bari in the match against U.S. Lecce an own goal to 0:2. For this, he and two accomplices had received around 250,000 euros in cash. August 3, 2012 Masiello was therefore suspended for 26 months.

National

Masiello played in the Italian U-18, U-19 and U-20 national teams. In total, he completed 21 caps for all youth national teams.
