Andrea Seastrand

Andrea Seastrand (* August 5, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American politician. Between 1995 and 1997, she represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Andrea Seastrand attended until 1963 the DePaul University. In the following years she worked as an elementary school teacher. At the same time she began a political career as a member of the Republican Party. She was President of the Federation of Republican Women in California. In 1965 she married the stockbroker Eric Seastrand. This was chosen in 1982 in the California State Assembly. After his death in 1990 his wife was elected as his successor in this house of Parliament, to which it belonged until 1994.

In the congressional elections of 1994 Seastrand in 22 electoral district of California was in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where they became the successor of Michael Huffington on January 3, 1995. Since it has not been confirmed in 1996, she was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1997. Today, she is director of the nonprofit organization California Space Authority and California delegates at the Aerospace States Association.
