Andrea Stramaccioni ( born January 9, 1976 in Rome, Italy ) is an Italian football coach and former football player. Most recently, he coached the first team of Inter Milan.

Career

Career as a player

Stramaccioni ran during his time as a player for FC Bologna as a defender on, had his career ended after a short time, however, due to a serious knee injury.

Career as a coach

His coaching career began in Stramaccioni youth or amateur. After he was able to celebrate some successes, the Roma became aware of him and committed Stramaccioni as a coach at youth level. Although he was able to celebrate some success with the youth of the " Giallorossi ", he was released after the takeover of the club by an American consortium led by Thomas DiBenedetto the investor. Then Stramaccioni hired as a youth coach at Inter Milan, who had shown interest in him prior to his commitment by AS Roma.

With the Primavera the " Nerazzurri " Stramaccioni won on 25 March 2012, the first edition of the NextGen Series, a junior tournament, to participate in the youth teams of many European top clubs. In the final in London the youth team of Ajax Amsterdam could be defeated in a penalty shootout.

Just one day later Stramaccioni joined the succession of Claudio Ranieri as coach of the first team of Inter. His first league game as head coach of the " Nerazzurri " April 1, 2012 ended in a 5-4 victory over Genoa. Following the 2011/12 season was Stramaccioni, which was initially viewed as a transitional coach, equipped with a three -year contract. After his success with the youth team of Inter Milan during the NextGen Series Roman was referred to by the Gazzetta dello Sport as " Mourinho of young talents ". This is an allusion to the Portuguese coach José Mourinho, who won the Champions League with the A- team of Inter 2010.

Stramaccioni is known for its ability to promote young talent and make it fit for the Serie A.
