Andreas Boltz

Andreas Boltz ( born July 13, 1964 in Würzburg ) is a German church musician and composer.

Life

Boltzmann studied Catholic church music at the Musikhochschule Würzburg. In 1989 he passed the Diploma -A exam and the state exam music teacher, in 1992 he acquired the master class diploma for artistic organ playing in the master class by Günther Kaunzinger. He also studied with Fritz ter Wey and Eric Ericson ( choral conducting ), Daniel Roth, Francoise Renet, Guy Bovet and Jon Laukvik (organ), Glen Wilson (harpsichord ), Kurt Suttner ( voice physiology ) and Zsolt Gárdonyi (composition).

From 1989 to 1993 he was assistant to the Kapellmeister at the Kilian in Würzburg. From autumn 1993 to 2011 he was Regional cantor of the diocese of Mainz, Darmstadt and professor of choral conducting and organ at the Institute of Sacred Music in Mainz.

As an organist and choir director, he played a recording for ZDF, BR, HR, DLF, ORF, RAI and Catalunya Ràdio. Concerts as a soloist and accompanist led him to many European countries. From 1994 to 1995 he was rehearsal director of the Musikverein Darmstadt in cooperation with the Staatstheater Darmstadt. From 1995 to 2011 Andreas Boltz led the Vocal Ensemble Darmstadt, a chamber choir of about 35 people, the work is project based.

His compositional work was honored in 1992 at the International Composition Competition in Trieste ( Italy) won the Premio Speciale. In 1998 he produced commissioned works for the closing worship of the Catholic Conference in Mainz, and at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2006, the stage work of sapphire, the setting of a scene set in the parable of the Indian author Dilip Chitre was born. In the fall of 2010, the musical theater production was the true Buenos Aires premiered in collaboration with the cultural association "con tempo" in Frankfurt am Main.

Since June 2011, Andreas Boltz Dommusikdirektor at Romer in Frankfurt am Main. Since September, rehearsals began for a Domsingschule to be built under his direction. On November 3, 2012, he plays in the cathedral the organ part Missa Solemnis of Boniface exhibition by Colin Mawby in the second performance of the work by the choir of St. Boniface, Wiesbaden, led by Gabriel Dessauer.
