Andreas Erm

Andreas Erm ( born March 12, 1976 in East Berlin ) is a former German touring.

The European Junior Champion in 1995 in the 10 - km walk started at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, where he came on the 24th place in the 20 - km walk. At the European Championships in 1998, he was over the same distance in fourth.

At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he finished fifth. At the Olympic Games in Athens, he was disqualified in a promising fifth position due to unclean walking. Also at the 1999 World Championships in Seville and at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, he left early before the bronze medal and the German record achieved his greatest success at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis.

Since its last part in the Olympics, he suffered from a long time not properly diagnosed muscle and hip injuries. On 10 June 2008, he therefore announced his final farewell to the competitive sports.

Andreas Erm is 1,84 m tall and had a competition weight of 70 kg. He started at VfB Fortuna Biesdorf his sports career and coached until 2002 when his father Siegfried Erm in various clubs in Berlin (Berliner TSC, VfL Fortuna Marzahn, Berlin SC, LAC Hallensee Berlin) and the TV Friesen Naumburg. In early 2003 he moved to SC Potsdam, where he was coached by Ronald Weigel. 1995-1997 he was German Junior Champions, 1998-2002 German champion in 20 - km walk, 2002 German champion in the 50 km walk and 1998-2001 German indoor champion from 1998 to 2001 in the 5000 -meter walk.

He and his wife Claudine, a former triple jumper, one daughter ( * 2006) and lives in Berlin.
