Andreas Frey

Andreas Frey ( born June 5, 1967 in Geislingen ) is a German economist and Director of the College of Economics and Environmental Nürtingen ( HfWU ) for the years 2013-2019.

Life and work

Having grown up in Geislingen he earned a high school on Michelberg school and then studied at the University of Wisconsin in the U.S. and at the University of Ulm, where he received his Dr. rer nat. After a postdoctoral stay at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and another research trip to Tokyo, he returned to Germany to compete as a systems engineer with Siemens AG for a job.

In 2004, Frey was appointed to the University of Osnabrück, where he taught as a professor of business mathematics, statistics and computer science economy until 2013. He also served as Academic Dean and Vice - Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and head of a working group " International Strategy ". In addition, he was speaker of the Innovation Center for internationalization, China Representative and organized the German - Chinese symposium as well as China and Japan Weeks in Osnabrück.

In April 2013 Andreas Frey was elected as Rector of the HfWU for a period of six years, succeeding Werner Ziegler. The inauguration took place on 1 September 2013.

Publications

  • Frey is the author of over 30 publications in German and English, he was a visiting professor at the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade and as a visiting scientist at Japan's Waseda University.
