Andreas Granqvist

Andreas Granqvist ( born April 16, 1985 in Helsingborg) is a Swedish football player. The defensive player who debuted in the Swedish national team in 2006, was in his career outside of his home country in England and the Netherlands active. Since summer 2013 he is the Russian FK Krasnodar under contract.

Career

Granqvist began his career at Påarps GIF. In 1997 he moved to the youth department of Helsingborgs IF. In 2004 he made ​​his debut in Allsvenskan, where he quickly became the leading player and took over the office of the team captain. On 23 January 2006 he made his debut also in the 0-0 draw with Jordan in the Swedish national team jersey after he had already accumulated in 26 games for the Swedish Under-21 team.

In January 2007, Granqvist joined initially on loan to Wigan Athletic in the Premier League. His debut for the club he gave on January 6 in the FA Cup against Portsmouth. In the summer it was - even though the cup game to date was his only use in jersey by Athletic - firmly committed and signed a two-year contract. His first league game, he completed 11 August 2007 in the 1-2 defeat against Everton. After 14 stakes in the Premier League, he returned in the winter but on loan to Sweden to Helsingborgs IF back to collect until the summer of match practice and to enable him to qualify for the squad of the Swedish national team for the 2008 European Championship.
