Andreas Mogensen

Andreas Mogensen Enevold ( born November 2, 1976 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish engineer and is formed by the European Space Agency for space travelers.

His first space flight he will attend along with the English opera singer Sarah Brightman on 30 September 2015. You should visit the International Space Station on Soyuz TMA -18M and return with Soyuz TMA- 16M after 10 days in space.

Life

After graduation in 1995 Mogensen studied aviation and aerospace engineering at Imperial College London, where he graduated with a Master degree in 1999. In 2003, he began his doctoral studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and earned the degree of Ph.D. in air and space technology.

During his studies he worked as a research assistant at the Center for Space Research and dealt in his doctoral thesis with the " real-time navigation for the Mars approach using Mars as a network. " His research focused on the precise navigation during the final approach of a satellite to Mars under using the Doppler effect when sending and receiving radio waves between the satellite and the Mars.

On 20 May 2009, the ESA Andreas Mogensen, in addition to five Furthermore, as a new spaceman candidates for the European Astronaut Corps before. His basic astronaut training, he completed on 22 November 2010.

Scientific career

Between 1999 and 2003, Mogensen worked in the research and development department of Vestas Wind Systems in Denmark and in the oil industry in the Congo.

After the graduation Mogensen came across HE Space Operations, a staffing company for aerospace experts to EADS Astrium in Friedrichshafen and worked as an engineer for attitude and orbit control system and guidance, navigation and control in the ESA project with SWARM.

Mogensen is currently Research Fellow at the Space Centre University of Surrey and is concerned with the precision guidance, navigation and control for precision landings on the moon and Mars missions.
