Career

Club career

Andreas Ulmer began his career with his hometown club SK keys. From there he moved to Linz for BNZ LASK Linz. At 14 he was accepted at the Frank Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn, where he did his graduation in 2005. In the season 2004/ 05 he gave for FK Austria Wien his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga, as well as in the UEFA Cup against Legia Warsaw.

After two seasons in the second division with Austria amateurs, he moved in 2008 due to better prospects of success for SV Ried, where he was able to establish the same as a regular player and as one of only two players by playing all 22 games before the winter break of the season 2008 /09. His personal sporting highlight was probably September 23, 2008, as Ulmer over 40 meters scored the Goldtor of Rieder 's 1-0 victory over SK Rapid Vienna after a dream solo.

On 28 January 2009, he joined Red Bull Salzburg and there wrote a contract until 2012. Already in his first half season at Red Bull Salzburg he was a regular player at left-back, in the season 2009/10 he was present in all games and came on 3155 use minutes. In the 2010/11 season he suffered a while warming up for a Champions League qualifier a serious injury, so that it could be used only towards the end of the season.

He is the first player in the Austrian Bundesliga, played 37 league games in a season with 36 rounds. The reason for this is that he changed during the winter of the SV Ried to Salzburg. Since this had to do an addendum game from the fall in the spring and Ulmer was also installed there, he came to a total of 37 completed league games in a season.

Internationally

Shortly after the transfer to Salzburg already made the convening of the Austrian national team for the friendly match against Sweden. In this game, he came on 11 February 2009, his debut in the red-white- red national jersey.
