Andreas Waschburger

Andreas Waschburger ( born January 6, 1987 in Saarbrücken ) is a German marathon swimmer.

Andreas Waschburger lives in Saarbrücken, is police commissioner contender, is the sports promotion group of the Saarland police. The float of SSG Saar Max Ritter is trained by Hannes Vitense.

Waschburger starting with the 2004 open water swimming. In 2009 he was third in the European Cup standings, 2010 and 2013, he won this series about 5 and 10 kilometers. In 2011, he won a World Cup race in Cancun and was third in the overall World Cup standings. At the European Championships in Budapest in 2010, he was 17, at the World Championships the following year tenth. He qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he finished eighth. In 2013 he started at the Universiade in Kazan about 10km and was third behind Matteo Furlan (Italy ) and Romain Berand (France).

National won Waschburger 2012 about 5 km the runner-up and was about 10 kilometers from third parties. At the International German Championships, he finished 2007 on 25 km and 10 km 2008 on the third, in 2010 about 10 km to second place.

At the European Championships of open water swimmers, 2012 in Piombino, Italy, occupied Waschburger over 10 km in second place and became vice European champion.
