Andreas Wirth

Andreas Wirth ( born November 19, 1984 in Heidelberg ) is a German racing driver.

Career

2001 drove Wirth in several Formula Ford racing series, including Germany and France. In 2002 and 2003 he raced in the German Formula BMW, where he achieved several top -10 and three podiums. After his move to the United States and the American Formula BMW he was able to secure directly in 14 races with eleven podiums, including three wins, the championship title. After several victories in Formula Atlantic in 2005 and 2006 he was in the 2006 contest two Champ Car race for Dale Coyne. Before and during the 2007 season, he tested several times for Dale Coyne and Forsythe Racing. In addition, he drove demonstration rides for the Champ Car. Before the 2008 season he was also at Audi for the DTM in the conversation where he should drive a two year old car. It was decided then but for various reasons, but for the Dutch Albers. So Wirth went back in Formula Atlantic, but after a few races, the season ended prematurely. The end of 2008, he played the Petit Le Mans for Panoz factory team. After Alpina finished his work commitment and vehicles sold for the 2010 season to s- Berg Racing, Wirth was now with his Czech team-mate Martin Matzke for the private Austrian team at the start. At the end of the season, he finished with his teammates each with 44 points 9th place.

In 2011, Andreas Wirth drove the then newly designed Mercedes -Benz SLS AMG GT3 in the version. On 10 July 2011, he won with his teammate Christiaan Frankenhout the first race with this vehicle in the service of Heico Motorsport in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring. Wirth finished at season's end the 9th place with 90 points.

On 20 March 2012, officially announced that Andreas Wirth for the 2012 season of the ADAC GT Masters GT3 for the team Callaway Competition Corvette C6 Z06 goes on a -R at the start.
