Andrée Vaurabourg

Andrée Vaurabourg - Honegger ( born September 8, 1894 in Toulouse, † July 18, 1980 in Paris) was a French pianist and music teacher.

Vaurabourg studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, where she specialized in counterpoint won the first prize. Here she met her future husband, the composer Arthur Honegger know. She married him in 1926, with Honegger made ​​it a condition that they both lived in separate apartments. She played many premieres of compositions by Arthur Honegger, including that of her devoted Concertino for piano.

Later taught Vauraboug - Honegger counterpoint and fugue at the École Normale de Musique de Paris. Here Pierre Boulez 1945-46 was her student.
