Andrei Borisenko

Andrei Ivanovich Borisenko (Russian: Андрей Иванович Борисенко; born April 17, 1964 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian cosmonaut.

Training

After the successful completion of the Physics and Mathematics School 30 in Leningrad in 1981, Borisenko reached in 1987 at the Leningrad Mechanical Institute with a degree in flight dynamics and control. From 1987 to 1989 he worked as a civil engineer in the Soviet Navy.

Professional life

He subsequently joined NPO Energia. Until 1999 he worked in the group analysis for on-board systems of Me in Flugleitzentrum in Korolev. He then layer flight director only for me and later in the ISS program. At the controlled re-entry of the Mir in March 2001, he was directly involved.

On 29 May 2003, he was selected by the Department of the Energia cosmonaut group as a candidate, he completed his basic training cosmonauts in June 2005 with honors. Until 2008, an expanded space training. Since then, he was in training for a long stay on the International Space Station. He was the substitute for Mikhail Korniyenko during its flight as a flight engineer of Soyuz TMA -18 mission to the ISS.

Borisenko was a flight engineer and Expedition 27 commander of Expedition 28 He launched on 4 April 2011 (local time: April 5 ), together with Alexander and Ronald Garan Samokutjajew in the Soyuz TMA -21 and landed again on 16 September 2011.

Private

Andrei Borisenko is married and has two children. His hobbies include fishing, badminton and car trips.
