Andrei Bukin

Andrei Anatoljevich Bukin (Russian: Андрей Анатольевич Букин; born June 20, 1957 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, USSR ) is a former Russian figure skater, who started ice dancing for the Soviet Union.

Bukin began at the age of seven years with the Ice skating at the CSKA Moscow. With ten years he went to Spartak Moscow and specialized in ice dancing. His first Eistanzpartnerin was Olga Abankina. End of the seventies he joined the training group by Tatiana Tarasova. His Eistanzpartnerin was from 1977 Natalja Bestemjanowa.

1979 had Bestemjanowa and Bukin their debut at the World Championships and 1980 European Championships and Olympic Games. In 1981, they won bronze at the World Championships their first medal. In the first half of the eighties and Bestemjanowa Bukin were the strongest competitors of the British Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. Bukin is married to his first Eistanzpartnerin Olga Abankina. With it, he has a son Andrei ( b. 1983 ). The couple separated, but had never divorced. With its current partner Jelena Wasjukowa, a former ice skater, he also has a son Ivan Bukin (* 1993), the 2012 runner-up Junior World Champion was as ice dancers.
