Andrei Ivanov (ice hockey)

Andrei Aleksandrovich Ivanov (Russian: Андрей Александрович Иванов; born March 10, 1981 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since May 2011 Avangard Omsk in HK from the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Andrei Ivanov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the SKA St. Petersburg, for the second team in 1998, he was initially active in the third-class Perwaja League until 2000. Then the attacker played three years for the first team of the SKA in the Super League, as well as parallel for its farm team HK Spartak Saint Petersburg in the Wysschaja League, the second Russian league. In 2003, he ran on in the second division exclusively for the HK Spartak. The 2005/06 season he joined Spartak before it a year for the HK Gomel in the Belarusian Extraliga season was across on the ice.

At the beginning of the 2006/07 season Ivanov returned to his native Russia and was taken from Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk under contract. With Neftekhimik he first ran in the Super League and from the season 2008/09 in the Continental Hockey League newly established. In the 2010/11 season he was team captain at Neftekhimik before he was obliged by HK Avangard Omsk in May 2011.
