Andrei Ivanovitch

Andrei Ivanovitch (Russian: Андрей Иванович Andrei Ivanovich, born 1968 in Bucharest, Romania) is a Romanian concert pianist.

Life

Andrei Ivanovitch, a great-grandson of the Romanian composer Iosif Ivanovici, grew up in St. Petersburg (Russia) and began his piano studies in 1975 at the Central Music School of the Leningrad State Conservatory in Nina Perunowas class. He graduated with honors from the Leningrad Conservatory, at the Russian Academy of Music in Moscow and at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Teodor Gutman, Nikita Jushanin and Peter Eicher. During his studies Ivanovitch laureate and winner was in international competitions in Cologne ( Foundation Tomassoni ) and Salerno / Italy ( 1st prize) 1992 in Terni / Italy (3 price) 1994 in Maryland / USA ( special price ) 1994, Cagliari / Italy (1 award ) in 1994, and the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati / USA ( 1 prize, gold medal ) 1994. at the time played Andrei Ivanovitch with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Russian National Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Staatskapelle (Saint Petersburg ), the Baden - Baden Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Tbiliser.

During his U.S. debut at Lincoln Center (New York), the New York Concert Review likened his pianistic art with the Dinu Lipattis. Since 2003 he is honorary member of the Chopin Society. The Canadian film " Glen Gould. Russion Jurney " with Ivanovitchs interpretation of the" Art of Fugue " by Johann Sebastian Bach was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Film Festival in Montreal.

In addition to radio and video recordings Andrei Ivanovitch has recorded 15 CDs with works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Mussorgsky and Prokofiev. In October 2007, he first met jazz pianist Eyran Katsenelenbogen to work together to create a new form of piano concertos.
