Andrei Kiryukhin

Andrei Anatoljevich Kirjuchin (Russian: Андрей Анатольевич Кирюхин, English transcription: Andrei Anatolyevich Kiryukhin; * August 4, 1987 in Yaroslavl, Russian SFSR; † 7 September 2011 in Tunoschna near Yaroslavl ) was a Russian ice hockey player who during his career, including for locomotive Yaroslavl played in the Continental Hockey League.

Career

Andrei Kirjuchin went through the junior section of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. For the second team in the third Russian league he first came in the course of the season 2003/ 04 are used. In the following season he achieved a breakthrough in the third- highest division, as a striker in 51 games scored 40 points and finished in tenth place in the scorers list. During the 2005/06 season Kirjuchin debuted for the first team of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Russian Super League. Here his breakthrough initially failed, so the Russians mostly came in the second team back into use. It took about a season before he notched up his first scoring in the Russian Super League.

For the 2007/08 season a commitment followed at second division HK Belgorod. After one season, he decided to leave the club and hired the league rivals Kapitan Stupino. Here the attacker also managed the breakthrough in the second highest Russian league. The season he finished in first place of the internal team scorer list; the league, he finished with 54 points in 64 games the main round in sixth place. For the season 2009/10 he was brought back by his youth club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. As of now, the Russian was an integral part in the KHL squad and reached in the season 2010/11 the mark of 25 points in the main round.

Kirjuchin came September 7, 2011 in a plane crash near Yaroslavl killed.

Internationally

For Russia Kirjuchin took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 2007. In six games, the striker contributed three assists for the silver medal winning Russian selection.
