Andrei Krauchanka

Andrej Krautschanka (White Russian Андрэй Краўчанка, English transcription Andrei Krauchanka, Russian Андрей Кравченко / Andrei Kravchenko, . Born January 4, 1986 at Myschanka Petrykau, Homelskaja Woblasz ) is a Belarusian decathlete.

In 2003 he became Junior Vice World Champion in eight fight, 2004 Junior World Champion and 2005 European junior champion.

In 2007 he won the bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships, won the all-around Götzis meeting with his personal record of 8617 points and was U23 European champion. In the decathlon at the World Championships in Osaka, he was however disqualified in the 100 -meter run.

In the heptathlon World Indoor Championships 2008, he won the silver with the Belarusian record of 6234 points. He achieved his greatest success at the Olympic Games in Beijing. There he won with 8551 points, the silver medal behind Bryan Clay (USA ) and before Leonel Suárez ( CUB).

Andrej Krautschanka is 1.92 m tall, weighs 82 kg and lives in Homel. His father was a decathlon champion military of the Soviet Union.
